If you are using English version of IE 5.0
or later, you can install Microsoft Global IME 5.0
to read and write Korean in Explorer. If you prefer
Netscape Navigator over Microsoft Explorer, you will
have to download Korean version of Netscape Communicator from here.

Click here

Global IME from the Microsoft site. The download
contains "Microsoft Global IME for Korean - with
Language Pack". |

Click OK to save the file in your local
hard drive. |

Choose a directory where you
want to save the file. (Please remember the directory
since you need to run this program
later.) The file size is about 2.2M so if you are
using 56K modem, it will take approximately 10 to 15
minutes. Please take a coffee break
now. |

Locate the file 'komondo.exe'
using windows file explorer. Double click the file to
execute the installation. Follow the instruction to
complete the installation. |

If you installed IME 5.0
correctly, you should be able to see Korean item from
VIEW menu -> ENCODING menu of the Internet Explorer. Select
Korean.

To set the language preference
and Korean font style, select 'Internet Options..' from
TOOLS menu of the Internet Explorer. |

Click 'Languages...' button at the bottom.
This will bring up Language Preference dialog
box. Add "Korean [ko]" to the list. Click
[OK]. |

Now, you should be able to read
and write in Korean. Click here
to test your newly installed IME 5.0. |

characters in the IE, click right-mouse and choose
"Encoding" then "Korean" from the
popup menu. |
